Finishing Production
This week my group and I have discussed how our video will
look like and how we will edit it. Nell asked me how our avatars will look like
in the video and where will they be placed in the video. I told her that I was
thinking that when a person is speaking their avatar will be positioned on the
bottom left corner of the video so that it wouldn’t take up much space but would
also be seen.
We also talked about the fact that we all are going to make
our own avatar to show each other’s individuality with them.
During the weekend I have invited one of my friends to do an
interview with them for the video project. They preferred to remain anonymous
so I gave them a questionnaire to fill out and told them that they will not be
recorded or that their name will not be mentioned at all in the video. After that
they happily answered the questionnaire.
The questions that I asked them were:
- How do you feel being not only non-binary but also black in the modern world?
- What is your experience with the media? Have you been insulted/bullied online for who you are?
- How did your friends and family react when you told them that your part of the LGBTQIA+ community? Did they accept you or turn you away?
For the last question they said that their family wasn’t
really supportive of them except for their twin brother who is also one of my
friends. Except for that they said that their friends were very accepting,
saying “my friends accept me whole heartedly and now a lot of them have come
out as LGBTQIA+ as well. We all are a gay happy family.” Since I’m one of those
friends then I know that’s very true.
For our project I have also designed my avatar and I have continued
editing the script for the video with the interview now done and dusted.
