Hello, my name is Oliwia Dawid. I'm 17 years old and I’m attending TU Dublin Blanchardstown. My birthday is 16th of June which makes me the youngest in my college course. I live with my family in Kilcock, Co. Kildare. I have a younger sister named Maja and is 12 years old. I was born in Poland but I moved with my mom to Ireland when I was two years old because of my dad’s job. I have been living in Ireland ever since then. Ever since I was small, I watched a lot of animation. My childhood was surrounded around Marvel and DC superheroes and many other cartoons, that’s how I got into art and animation. Later on in life, around two years ago I gained interest in Japanese anime. This only piqued my interest in animation and as I said art.
I have been doing art for many years now and I even did it
for my Junior and Leaving Cert. I really enjoyed this subject even though it
wasn’t always easy. Once I graduated secondary school, I decided to do an
animation course at first but the colleges were either too far or they were
private colleges, so I decided to find another course that is similar to
animation. I found Creative Digital Media. This course is a mix of different
things which will later on give you multiple career choices. That’s why I chose
this course, because if I don’t like one thing then I will like another.
I look forward to learning more about this fascinating course.
I hope that thanks to it I will be able to develop a lot of new skills and to
see if I will gain interest into other things like photography or web design. To
be honest at first, I thought that I would be lost, mainly because all of my friends
from secondary school went to other colleges, but when I got to Creative
Digital Media at TU Dublin Blanchardstown, I found many new friends that have
similar interests like me and who will also help me if I need help with
anything. Even though I barely started college, I think that this course is
going to be fun and worthwhile.
